The five questions to ask any yoga studio
Before joining any yoga studio in Hyderabad, ask these five questions and pay attention to the answers. One — where did your teachers train and under whom? A good teacher will answer clearly and with pride. Vague answers suggest either a short certification course or no meaningful lineage. Two — what does a typical class include? The answer should include breathwork (pranayama) and some form of meditation or relaxation, not just physical postures. Three — do your sequences change daily? If the answer is no, you will plateau quickly. Four — do you teach the health benefits and contraindications of each pose? This is the mark of a scientifically grounded teacher. Five — can I try a free class? Any genuine studio will say yes.
Red flags to watch for
Avoid studios that promise dramatic physical transformations in short timeframes without mentioning breathwork or lifestyle. Yoga is a complete science — studios that reduce it to a workout are teaching exercise, not yoga. Be cautious of studios where the teacher is always changing. Continuity of instruction matters enormously in yoga — your practice needs to be known and guided by someone who remembers where you started. Finally, be cautious of very large group classes (30+ students) where individual correction is impossible.
