Ages 5–16 · Online & Studio

The best gift
you can give
your child.

Not a sport. Not a hobby. A life skill. Yoga gives children the tools to manage their mind, strengthen their body and carry calm into everything they do — in school, at home, for life.

Kids Yoga at Navyoga Wellness — fun, structured, age-appropriate

Program

Structured for every age

Separate batches for 5–8, 9–12 and 13–16

Why Start Early

Children absorb what
adults struggle to learn.

A child who learns to breathe consciously at 8 carries that tool at 18, 28 and 80. The habits formed in childhood are the hardest to break — make them the right ones.

Academic impact

Focus & Concentration

Yoga trains the attention system. Children who practice regularly show measurably better concentration in class, complete tasks more thoroughly and are less distracted by screens.

Mental wellness

Emotional Regulation

Breath awareness gives children a tool to manage anger, anxiety and overwhelm. Instead of reacting, they learn to pause. This is the single most valuable skill a child can develop.

Physical development

Physical Strength & Flexibility

Yoga builds balanced strength — not just muscles, but coordination, balance and body awareness. Children become more athletic across every sport they play.

Self-belief

Confidence & Self-Esteem

Every new pose mastered, every challenge overcome builds a child's belief in themselves. Yoga is non-competitive — every child succeeds at their own pace, without comparison.

Rest & recovery

Better Sleep

Simple breathing techniques before bed calm the nervous system and prepare the body for deep, restful sleep. Children fall asleep faster, wake less and feel genuinely rested.

Character building

Discipline & Routine

A regular yoga practice teaches children that consistency produces results. This lesson — that showing up every day matters — transfers to studies, music, sport and life.

Age Groups

Designed for every stage.

Children are not small adults. Each age group has a different attention span, body capacity and learning style. Our programs are built around this.

🌱
Sprouts

Ages 5 – 8

Play-based learning. Short attention spans are honoured — sessions use storytelling, animal poses and movement games to introduce yoga naturally.

  • Animal pose stories (cat, dog, cobra, butterfly)
  • Simple breath games and awareness
  • Balance and coordination play
  • Group activities and partner poses
  • 30-minute sessions — age-appropriate length

Fun first. Technique follows.

🌿
Explorers

Ages 9 – 12

Structured practice with growing challenge. Children this age can hold poses longer, understand instruction and begin to feel the effects of breath on their mind and body.

  • Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar)
  • Standing and balancing poses
  • Introduction to pranayama
  • Focus and concentration techniques
  • 45-minute structured sessions

Building real practice foundations.

🌳
Achievers

Ages 13 – 16

Teen-focused program addressing the specific pressures of this age — exam stress, screen dependency, posture, self-image and emotional volatility. Treated as capable young adults.

  • Full asana sequences and holds
  • Pranayama for exam stress and focus
  • Yoga philosophy in modern context
  • Meditation and mindfulness basics
  • 45–60 minute sessions

Exam pressure? We've got a practice for that.

Session Structure

What happens in class.

Every kids yoga session follows a structured arc — energising enough to hold attention, calm enough to build stillness.

01
🙏

Invocation

Simple opening chant or mantra. Sets intention and transitions the child into the practice space mentally.

02
🌀

Warm-Up

Playful joint movements and body shaking. Releases the restlessness children carry in — safely and joyfully.

03
🧘

Asana Play

Age-appropriate pose sequences — animal poses for young ones, structured flows for older groups.

04
🌬️

Pranayama

Breath games and breathing techniques made simple and fun. Bee breath, balloon breath, cooling breath.

05
🌙

Rest & Reflection

A short guided relaxation — 5 minutes lying down. Children learn that stillness is powerful, not boring.

Parent Stories

What parents tell us.

"My son could not sit still for 10 minutes. Three months into Navyoga kids classes, his teacher called me to say his focus in class had visibly improved. He now reminds me that it is time for his yoga. I did not expect it to work this fast."

Sunita Rao

Mother of 9-year-old · Online student

"My daughter was dealing with exam anxiety that was affecting her sleep and appetite. We tried everything. Navyoga was the last thing I expected to help — but after 6 weeks, she sleeps through the night and handles pressure completely differently. The breathing techniques she learned are genuinely life-changing."

Vikram Sharma

Father of 13-year-old · Studio student

"What I love most is that Naveen's trainer makes it genuinely fun. My daughter looks forward to her class — she does the animal poses for us at dinner and explains what each one does. The fact that she understands why she is doing something at age 7 amazes me every time."
